This is a common wild creeper found in paddy fields, dried up tank beds and lakeshores of the dry lowlands. It is widely distributed and occurs naturally in tropical Africa, tropical Asia to northern Australia.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as Least Concerned (National Red List 2012).
This is a very commonly consumed green leafy vegetable with rice and curry in traditional country villages. It is also used to treat stomach pain, increased frequency of bowl movement and septic conditions.
This is a common species found at most water bodies and villus during the dry season. I have observed flowers throughout the year.
