This species is an endemic species found in the low country dry and intermediate zones up to an altitude of about 600 meters from sea level. They are quite common near the coast. It is a tall tree that that grows to a height of 10-12 meters and produces edible fruits.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as “Data Deficient” (National Red list 2020).
This is a common species in the sandy areas of the park. The flowering season of these trees begin during the month of February and the bright orange fruits can be seen in June and July.
