Common Name : Lentinus Mushrooms     -       Scientific Name : Lentinussp. (edible)       -       Other Name : Resembling Mushrooms

The genus Lentinus comprises of approximately 120 species, and they have colonized sites throughout the tropical and subtropical regions of the world. They belong to the Polyporaceae family.

The genus name of this group is derived from the Latin words which give the meaning “resembling”.
I have seen this edible species at Wilpattu during the month of February at Kokkare Villu.
