These are edible mushrooms belonging to the family Formitopsidaceae and these are found throughout the world. Some species of this genus are said to taste like chicken meat which has resulted in them being named by the other names given above. The fruit bodies, commonly referred to as mushrooms of this genus grows in large brackets.
I have observed this species during the month of May at Kokkare Villu.
