This species is found throughout the lowlands. This is a widespread plant, which is found throughout tropical Asia, Africa and Australia.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as Least Concerned (National Red List 2012).
The females of a species of butterfly known as the Pea Blue which lays eggs on few other species of Crotalaria lays eggs on the tender leaves of this species as well.
In Ayurveda medicine roots and leaves of this plant are used to treat many ailments including cough, fever, cardiac disorders, diarrhea and scabies. Water infused with this plant is used to bathe children.
This species can be seen throughout the open areas of the park. I have observed flowers between June and July.
