This is a common damselfly that belongs to the Coenagrionidae family commonly referred to as “Bluets” and is found throughout the lowlands to mid hills. It is also native to India, Pakistan, Nepal and south China.
The conservation status of this species is regarded as “Least Concerned” (National Red List 2012).
This is a species protected under the Fauna and Flora Protection Ordinance as amended by Act No. 22 of 2009.
This damsel fly is found throughout the park wherever there is habitat suitable for its existence. I captured the images depicted at Mana Wila.
